Mediation & negotiation

Reaching agreement, outside the courtroom.

Struggling to come to an agreement? Was a promise made and not kept, and now the courtroom looks like the only way forward?

Suluhu is the third party at the table who helps both sides reach an agreement they can live with, in private, and usually faster and cheaper than court.

What we resolve

Business

Investors · Founders · Partners · Suppliers & Buyers

  • Difficult partnership conversations
  • Sour deal terms
  • Shareholder and co-founder friction

Wekesa wants to buy a 20% stake in Arnold's logistics company. The money is ready and both want the deal, but the conversation over terms keeps proving difficult.

Personal

Families · Neighbours · Individuals · Companies

  • Land disputes
  • Parental custody and arrangements for children
  • Money matters and debts

Kamau borrowed KSh 1 million from Esther, to repay within a year. The year is up, and Esther is weighing court.

2 ways to work

Mediation

Neutral. Both sides at the table, and the mediator serves neither. The agreement you reach is yours, written down and signed by both.

Negotiation

On your side. Suluhu works for you, toward a win-win the other side can accept.

Never both in one matter. Which one yours is gets settled in the first conversation.

How it works

  1. Reach out. WhatsApp or call. Tell us briefly what happened.
  2. First conversation. We agree whether it is mediation or negotiation, and who needs to be in the room.
  3. Sessions. Together or separately, at a pace the matter needs.
  4. A written settlement. The agreement, put in writing and signed by both sides.

What is said in mediation stays in mediation. Where an agreement needs formalising, with a court or the land registry, Suluhu works alongside advocates to see it through.
